    Progressive Laboratories® launches Allergy Modulator™

Irving, Texas, April 29, 2014 – Progressive Laboratories, Inc., a premier supplier of science-based, therapeutic potency nutritional supplements to healthcare professionals for over 40 years is proud to announce the addition of Allergy Modulator to its line of over 250 nutritional supplements, formulated by Progressive Labs Medical Director, Mitchell Fleisher, MD, DHt, DABFM, DcABCT.  Dr. Fleisher is a double board-certified family physician and has over 25 years clinical experience specializing in classical homeopathy, nutritional and botanical medicine, chelation and bio-oxidative therapy.

Allergy Modulator® is an advanced formulation containing botanical extracts that naturally and effectively help modulate allergenic responses.  The primary ingredient in Allergy Modulator®, Tinofend®, is an extract of Tinospora cordifolia, and herb long used in Ayurvedic medicine for multiple health benefits, including relief from allergies. In a published, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, Tinofend® was found to significantly reduce sneezing and nasal discharge, obstruction and itching in a group of 75 subjects with allergic rhinitis.  Allergy Modulator® also incorporate four additional botanical extracts: Holy Basil, picrorhiza, nettle leaf and Ecklonia cava, to provide additional support for allergy symptoms.

    • Tinospora cordifolia (Guduchi) or Tinofend® is a well-researched, ancient Ayurvedic botanical medicine that provides polyphenols, diterpene compounds, and polysaccharides, including the immunomodulatory arabinogalatans, and alpha-glucans, with potent, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, anti-allergenic, and adaptogenic properties.  Clinical research involving 75 patients with chronic, allergic rhinitis (hay fever) demonstrated a statistically significant reduction of allergic symptoms, including congestion, itching, etc., compared to placebo.  An independent review of this research supported the findings of the allergy study and has be clinically demonstrated to reduce the symptoms of allergic rhinitis

    • Picrorhiza kurroa (Picroliv®, Indian Milk Thistle, or Katuki) extract has been demonstrated to possess anti-allergic activity via mast cell stabilization

    • Ocimum sanctum (Holy Basil) provides triterpenoic acids, particularly ursolic acid, which have been demonstrated to exert significant, anti-allergenic effects through the inhibition of the degranulation of mast cells, thereby inhibiting the release of histamine from the mast cell granules

Progressive Labs hosted a webinar for healthcare professionals, presented by Dr. Fleisher entitled “Nutritional Management of Allergies” in April.  An archived version of the webinar is available on the Progressive Labs website,, or call for further information.
